Wow, the results of Round 11 of the the [livejournal.com profile] rwsawards - Running with Scissors Awards are out and I was chuffed to bits to get a couple of nods.

My Xander, D'Hoffryn, Andrew angst fest Words to Live By won in the Rigor category for fics between 1001 - 10,000 words. And I'm blushing to have come runner up in the 'Bloody Brilliant' Author category, and I can tell you that to be runner up in this category to [livejournal.com profile] snogged makes my day. So a huge thank you to the judges and to those who voted.

Congratulations to everyone on my flist who was nominated and recognised this time around. I think the sterling list demonstrates that our fandom still has a lot of life in it yet.

And thanks to [livejournal.com profile] darkgoddessgege for putting so much time and effort into running the awards each year.

See this - this is one very chuffed sparrow :)

Wow, a very lovely person (I'm thinking possibly Gabrielle, but thank you to whoever it was *g*) nominated my Xander, Willow fic The Collector at the Willowy Goodness Awards in the Best Friendship category.

I'm really fond of this story, not least because it came about as a result of one of my [livejournal.com profile] summer_of_giles stories last year Being Normal. Xander was only fleetingly in that story, but Giles and Illyria both called him The Collector and it made me curious what his role was in that universe. So I had to write The Collector to find out, and it turned into a Willow and Xander conversation that I was really happy with, especially as I rarely write Willow because I don't feel I have a handle on her.

Go check out all the great stories that are nominated and there's still time to nominate until the end of February, so go make someone as chuffed as this nom has made me.

I hope everyone has had a good weekend :)

The Sunnydale Memorial Fanfiction Awards Round 32 results are up. Really great to see so many names I’m not familiar with, or only know a little about, which means I’ve got new authors and new fic to discover, which is brilliant.

Congratulations to everyone who was nominated and who won a pretty, including members of my flist like [livejournal.com profile] shapinglight and [livejournal.com profile] baudown. And I was chuffed to bits to see I’d shared the runner up spot for best slash with [livejournal.com profile] brutti_ma_buoni (now that’s an association I’ll happily take!). Here’s my pretty for my Giles/Ethan fic, One Of These Days

Here's my shiny thing... )

I’m chuffed to bits that I got some nominations at the next round of the Sunnydale Memorial Fanfiction Awards

Sunnydale Memorial Awards nomination button photo SunnydaleMemorialAwardsNomination_zpsdc3a2751.jpg

My Gen, Giles, Illyria, Xander angst fest Being Normal is nominated in:
• Best Angst
• Best Drama
• Best Gen Fic
• Best Post-series Fic

And my other Giles/Ethan angst fest One Of These Days was nominated in:
• Best Pairing Unconventional
• Best Slash
• Best Characterisation

Both were written for the 10th anniversary of [livejournal.com profile] summer_of_giles, which is kind of ironic considering I didn’t actually think I’d be able to write anything for the community this year!

Thank you so much to the lovely person/people who nominated me, you’ve really have made my day. Nominations are open until the end of September, so go check out the brilliant stuff that’s already there and if you don’t see you favourite, there’s still time to do something about it! Voting starts October 1.

Bounces and considers having a glass of wine...

Bring on the Night (Best Dark) category
I Will Remember You (Best Angst) category
This Old Gang of Mine (Best Gen) category

As always, I’m very flattered to have my fics nominated, so thank you. There's already some wonderful work nominated, but there's always room for more love, so go nominate more goodies if you don’t see your favourites already up there.

Go on, make someone’s day. I know getting these nominations has made my week.

PS: I would have displayed a nominee button, but for some reason my computer isn’t letting me save them, but imagine there is a pretty here as well! :)

So the very lovely [livejournal.com profile] whiskyinmind just realised she'd never posted the results of the 2013 White Knight Awards, that venerable celebration of all things Xander Harris. Well she's now done that and I was blown away to get some pretties.

I got a lovely surprise this morning with some nominations at the current round of the venerable Sunnydale Memorial Awards.

My current WiP The Beating of the Bounds has been nominated as best Unfinished fic and best characterisation for Xander, which delights me no end, because I do love this version of my boy. I’ve also been nominated in the best author category, which is very gratifying when I look at the company I’m in.

Thanks to whoever nominated me and my story, I’m very touched, and congratulations to others on my flist who are also nominated – they all really deserve recognition. There’s still time to nominate, so get on over there and wave the flag for your favourite stories – it’s a great way to keep our fandom alive and kicking.

Right, I need to go and do some nominating myself –nods importantly and puts that on the ‘to do’ list for this week.

Anyway, I’m bouncing like mad right now, so I hope everyone else is having as lovely a day.

I've only been online briefly this weekend, so I haven't had a chance to say that my Angel(us)/Buffy one-shot Masks got a runner up nod in the Best Drabble (100-600 words) category at the No Rest for the Wicked Awards.

I was thrilled to bits, so thank you to the judges and the mods for running the site.

And huge congratulations to all the winners, many of whom are on my flist and are all hugely deserving of the kudos. Go and check out the list if you're stuck for something to read because there are some brilliant fics there.

The results of Round 4 of the [livejournal.com profile] absenceoflight awards were posted on Friday and I'm thrilled that Whispers of Futures Past my Spike, Xander ficlet from the end of last year won the 'Best Ficlet' category. Wow, all I can say is that I’m having a very good week. First I got some lovely surprises via the White Knight Awards and today, just after I’d finished making our Christmas tree look pretty, I refreshed my LJ and there were the results of the Sunnydale Memorial Awards Round 27 and Christmas has definitely come early this year.

Mockingbird received no less than four shiny things – count them – four!

Best Characterisation: Male for Xander
Best Unconventional Pairing
Runner up for Best Drama
Runner up for Best Post Series Finale fic

Additionally, my one shot for this year’s [livejournal.com profile] summer_of_giles, Warming the Pot received Runner Up in the Best Fluff category, which was just perfect.

Again, thank you so much for the nominations, for voting and for continuing to read my stuff. You make me a very happy little sparrow.

Congratulations to everyone who was nominated and received their own pretties, it's wonderful to be in such great company. You can see the full list right here.

And I can’t help a special mention for [livejournal.com profile] thismaz who bagged Runner Up for Best Beta. Congratulations, hon, you know I wouldn’t be writing without you.

Last but not least, huge thanks to the mods for all their hard work running such a great awards site!

I got a lovely surprise yesterday with the announcement of the winners of this year's White Knight Awards, where our corner of fandom celebrates all things Xander Harris.

I was thrilled to get three lovely shiny things. The first for Overall Author, which was an amazing surprise, so thank you to everyone who voted.

This year's labour of love, my pre-S1 AU Cracks in the World won the 'World Without Shrimp' category.

And my entry to last year's [livejournal.com profile] fall_for_sx, Fork in the Road tied with Skargasm's Way Beyond Redemption in the 'Guess Who Just Got Mean' category.

Thanks to everyone who voted and for continuing to be such supportive readers of my ramblings. And huge congratulations to everyone who got recognized. You can see the full list right here..

Finally, before I begin to sound like Sally Field, thanks to [livejournal.com profile] whiskyinmind for her hard work every year making WKA happen.

Well, that was a lovely surprise. Me and Mr Sparrow went out for a very bracing New Year's Day walk and when we came back there was an email waiting, telling me that Magpie had won a couple of bright and shiny things at the Sunnydale Memorial Fanfiction Awards Round 25. It won Best Angst and came Runner Up in the Best Gen category, so I'm a very, very happy sparrow right now.

Congratulations to all the winners and runners up and thank you to the lovely folk who nominated me and voted. I really am bouncing up and down, so it's a good job the husband is upstairs or he'd be looking at me strangely! *g*

From the cunningly titled headline, you've probably guessed that the winners of the 2011 White Knight Awards, recognizing all things Xander have been announced.

There was some brilliant fic nominated, as always, so I wanted to say congratulations to all the winners and runners up, especially as so many are on my lovely Flist. You can find out who got what right here...

And I can't say enough, how much love [livejournal.com profile] whiskyinmind deserves for running such a great site every year.

Finally,'cause you've probably noticed the pretty banner below. Huge thank you to everyone who voted for Magpie as the winner in the "Ludicrous and Far Too Breakable" category. Having just finished posting the sequel Mockingbird last week, it was wonderful to get such lovely recognition for Magpie. So thank you so much to everyone who read it and voted. What a great way to start a Sunday morning.

My Angel/Angelus, Buffy ficlet Masks was Runner Up at round 4 of the
No Rest for the Wicked Awards
"Hearts of Gold" (Best Drabble) category, and in this case 'drabble' is being used to categorise any fic of 600 words or under.

Isn't it pretty...

NRFTW Rd4 Best Drabble Runner Up

Thanks to everyone who voted. This ficlet was different from my normal, and was also written in the midst of the chaos of getting ready to emigrate (and would you believe that's coming up for 3 years in January!), so it's lovely to get this ficlet recognised. *g*

Check out the other lucky recipients at the awards site - there are some lovely banners and some great fic.

I hope everyone else is having a good day.
